Default Eagle F1 GS (non runflat) Lifespan question

I just bought a set of Eagle F1 GS non runflats in late november, and have noticed they are already about half worn. I really dont burnout with the car, but my driving is ''spirited''... Just seems rediculous how much you spend on these, and how fast they wear! Seems as if the center of the tire is wearing out faster for some reason. What is the average lifespan of these tires, just wondering?!? Also i run 29 psi in them. Thanks, Chris

Every report I've read predicts 30,000 miles or more from these tires. It looks like you need to lower the pressure a bit more. I'd try 28 or even 27 cold. My OEM EMTs wore out in the center, even at 29 psi, so use the much-touted 30psi as a guide only and adjust accordingly.

Center wear indicates too high a pressure.

I have found tire gages to vary quite a bit. I would look into that.

I would think that you could get well into the 20's with these tires - I sure hope I get that on mine. If it is wearing in the center, normally that means you have too much air in the tires. May want to check it with an accurate tire guage if you have not already done so.

i thought 27 psi would be a little too low, but i agree with you about having the center wear out due to more psi. Maybe its time i switch to a better tire, I'm considering some drag radials, but the car is a daily driver. The only thing that worries me is the rainy season with them here in florida! What do you guys think?

If you're worried about handling in the rain, you'd be downgrading by getting any other tire. These tires rule the wet road!

Just had mine put on last Friday. They put 36psi in each tire... I reduced it to 32 for starters.

It was raining when they put them on and the manager commented how I picked the worst tire for rain performance....tried to tell him tire rack reviews rated them good for wet weather.

So far, can't tell much of a difference from the run flats. Was expecting a huge difference from all the talk, but other than maybe a little quieter...

Maybe I just need a few more days with them on dry roads.

Definately don't look as good as the run flats IMO. I liked the look of the EMT's.

My 99 has the original tires with 20k miles on them and still half the tread is left. I set the tire pressure at 30 pounds per the factory.

Well I got about 30k out of the runflats and hope to get about the same on the D3's. And as for a rain tire there's nothing better. And I to agree that you should look into a better pressure gauge. Mine you what pressure did your DIC say you had in the tires?

I run 34 PSI cold in mine. No wear of any kind. IMO, these tires need more air (>30) since the original runflats have stiffer sidewalls. I would check your alignment, this is not normal wear.

28 psi on the DIC... The fronts are doing fine though, its just the rear! I'm going to be needing new pad and rotors so i might as well have an alignment done at the same time.. Thanks guys
