Default That's a Lotta Work!!

Wife's out shopping with her daughter, nice warm day, plenty of time to myself: Time to do the wash/polish/wax thing on Red Racer!

4 hours later, I'm sore and tired, but OMG... what a shine! I've never seen anything like it! Looks like it just left the factory...even better! That Meguiers #27 polish and NXT wax are fabulous products.

I know, I know, pics. It was dark outside when I finished so those will have to wait.

Only thing is, there was a forecast of showers today so I left it in the garage so I get to look at the beater Explorer all day out in the lot.

All that time spent working on the Vette, I'm not gonna let it get dirty the first day.

What would you do?

If I just spent 4 hours detailing the car, and knew the next day it was going to rain - I'd drive the DD.

I've been driving the DD every day for the last month - and it finally is starting to get nice here, 80's and sunny - so I'm back in the Vette for a couple of days!

That is a lot of work. I bet she looks great.

In answer to your question: Next time use Zaino. Just my biased HO, but I think the shine is going to hold up better even driving in the rain and then cleaning it up a bit.

Our Corvette IS our daily driver...at least 'till fall. I'd drive it...it's gonna get dirty eventually anyway, and they are fun to wash. Besides, you can watch the water bead up on the hood. I don't know about Tacoma, but it isn't raining here in Port Orchard. Maybe the weather guys are wrong....again.

I'd wait until the weather is nice and sunny, then get the car out.

Nope.

Started raining about 12:15 here...Glad I left Red Racer in the garage. Think I'll go home, pull up a chair, and look at it for a while as soon as I get out of here in a couple of hours.

I headed out to garage this morning at 4:30 am and it was pouring down up here, had to go back in the house grab the keys to my winter DD, the good thing it's going to be nice for the weekend wich translates to driving the vette to the golf course for a round!!
