I hate bras and always have, however, I recenetly moved to an area where the roads have small rocks on them especially after the winter months.
I have been looking for a bra that is made of a soft material rather than the stiff leather type.
Anyone have any recommendations.
Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search before posting with very little success.
let's do some stupid math here. you not only have to pay money for the bra but you have to pay for the intangible loss and that is not being able to show its beautiful front because of the ugly bra/s.
my little calculator on my Casio wrist watch tells me that it's cheaper to just get the bumper painted once in couple years! matching color bra costs more than 300 US dollars and so does the clear 3M stuff...and tho people say they look nice and all, nothing beats the NAKED front without garments to hide its beauty.
I hate the maintenace re;atd tp a bra. I had one on my prior car and it was a pain taking it on and off occassionally. I'm looking into the 3M film. Everything I read says thats the way to go.....
PS: When I read the title to your post, I thought we were talking about CorvetteShoes post on which mod is a womans most favorite.

C5Creations has a fabric bra that stretches over the front end and covers about as much area as the other bras. It can be washed too and folds up nice and compact.
A bra is something i've been thinking about also. I like the Speed Ling. but don't really want to pay 500 dollars for one. Everyone seems to like the GM bra for the money, but I guess I'll do a lot of checking before I get one. In the summertime around here the bugs can really cover the front of your car at night. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I have the GM Bra (or is it BRO?) - best bang for the buck - Fichtner sells them for about $70. The fit is very good, and once you've done the initial install, on and off real easy. The only that thing that sux about the GM bra is the instructions.....but here's a Tech Tip that really shows what involved with the install!

If you go with the 3M or armourglove you can have the rockers and wheel well lips done at the same time. That is where the real damage happens on gravel roads.
I had one on my '92 and is was a pain to take off & put back on. Therefore, it stayed on too much. The one I have for the C5 is from GM and it's easy to take off and reinstall. I too use it for road trips.

Can't you keep it on all the time -- after all, the bugs and chips are out there all the time, not just when it's dry and on long road trips.
I believe the issue is getting moisture trapped between the bra and the paint and the possiblity of damaging the paint. The same is true that the bra should never be installed over a dirty surface.....my opinion of course!
I run a bra in the winter and my front end looks factory fresh in the spring and summer. The key is wax, wax, wax before you put it on. Mines not a DD andif I'm going to let it sit for a week or so, I take it off. It takes 10 minutes to puton/take off a GM bra. Cheap insurance.

Oh yeah - one last thing, they say (Who's they, BTW?) you should take the bra off if in wet conditions....... I use mine only for raod trips.
I agree with all of this except that it's OK for the bra to get wet just don't LEAVE the bra on for extended periods of time after the sun comes out. The mixture of heat and the high moisture level under the bra tends to "fog" the paint.
