I am looking at several Vettes right now, and I really like the HUD. But, some that are a good price do not have the option. Does anyone know what it would cost to add HUD?

Depending on your parts sources and abililities, you can put one in yourself for about $475 to $600 range. I did mine a few months ago. It's a bit tedious but not that difficult. At least I didn't think so. Assuming your IPC is "HUD ready", you will need a projector, 11pin cable (not available as a seperate item from Chev), dash bezel and switch assembly. You may be able to get the 11 pin cable from Josh or others. Without it you can't complete the install. HTH

Gathering all that I need to do mine as well. Got the projector, bezel, switch assy from Fred Beans for under $300 shipped. Hooking up with PaceThis for the 11 pin harness. Will do install in a few weeks time.

Its really not that expensive to add the HUD - just have to find a good source for the parts. Fichtner Chevy or Fred Beans Pontiac are good sources, as is the Karshop.
If you add HUD to a vette, with it work on the original windshield?
Absolutely. No problems here. Parts cost $300 (Fred Beans) + connector from Josh (~$40). Stock windshield works just fine. You can see the HUD even in bright sunlight. Installation took about 2.5 hours for me, but I am slow.
