Man do we think alike!
I would give my left you know what and maybe my right one too to be able to reduce some a-hole to just a grease spot when they pull some shet like that.

Might want to check your headlights and foglamps for proper aiming adjustment. It's possible that you were blinding them to cause that kind of response from other drivers. The irony of that kind of response repeatedly in one trip is unreal.
If he broke your windshield, scratched your paint, or dented your car, wouldn't he be held fully liable? I'm kind of curious why you didn't pursue him farther, although if you were pretty certain everything was fine and you just wanted to get as far away as possible from this retard, I can perfectly understand
I had already trailed him well in excess of the speed limit for quite some time. The last thing I needed was for this guy to wreck out and hurt himself or someone else with me chasing him at high speed... Thats why I pulled off, would rather fix a windshield than have to worry about somebody getting hurt. Sometimes the better part of valor is simply to walk away...
Thats why I pulled off...
P.S.
Checked the car out this morning. A little residual beer still on the car, but otherwise O.K. (LUCK)
He was probably a drunk a$$hole thinking he could vent his frustrations on your vette.
Here is a similar story with a happy ending
A friend of mine owned a Dodge Stealth TT. Three kids in their Dad's volvo threw an egg and it hit his window sill and egg splattered EVERYWHERE inside the car.
This guy carried an alum baseball bat with him and chased those fockers down the street with it.
He got their license plate and had a friend in DMV run it. Those kids got the fright of their lives when we pulled up in front of his house.
The kids father was very apologetic and paid for all the detailing and paint damage. From the look of how angry he was at his son, the kid likely got quite a beating LOL!
Oh geesh.. sorry to hear about all that. That's horrible! I've had my fair share of problems too when driving the vette but never in one night. And every time I have had those problems I stay well enough in range until the police show up. I also have a digital camcorder hardmounted in my car so it is always recording. It does take a little extra time here and there but I consider it cheap insurance. The ****** can't exactly lie and get away with it if it's on tape.
That's one reason I don't take it out at night. To many loonie tunes out there. I only go out it there's other car guys doing the same thing. Let's hope you have a better weekend.
Lot more stupidity at night it seems like. I driver her at night, but I'm probably a lot more on guard.

You did the right thing. No sense taking a chance on getting in a dangerous situation. I think I would follow up with a phone call to the same police you called that night and see what they have done. You gave them the licence number, I would think the responsible thing to do for the police is to contact them and at least let these A$$holes know they were reported.
