Neighbor just bought a 2002 Vert. It has stock exhaust and it looks like someone sprayed his chrome exhaust tips with wheel cleaner and it ate the finish off. He does not want to change exhaust systems right now but would like to replace these tips. Notice in WCC catalogue they sell the replacement stock tip. How hard is is to remove the original tip. Help is appreciated.

The stock ones are probably tack welded on (just a guess). A muffler shop should be able to easily remove them and then you can put the replacements on. You may be able to get them off yourself with a dremel if you loosen the exhaust and swing it down to get at the top of the tips.

agree.
you know, before you take them off, i'd try buffing them out...... i've had very good luck polishing out fairly deep scratches in them, i know they call them "chrome wash", or something like that, but i think they're Stainless, and you can do wonders with raw stainless. i've did several now, and they turned out perfect, like a mirror.
