Nothin special but I'd like to boast my collection of wagon wheels! I have one set of Kumho Ecsta MX's I use for street/summer tires. I have one set with the Goodyear Mud+ Snow Runflats on them, and I have a third set just chillin, waiting for either some track rubber, or who knows what else.... So thats 12 wagon wheels total! I have 14 centercaps in all! Now only if these were Y2k polished.....
It would be nice if they were a bit wider, but the often overlooked Wagon Wheels are quite strong, QUITE strong. Mine will not be for sale after we purchase wide wheels for gummy summer rubber. The Wagons will be shod with Toyo Proxis T1-S for the winter rains. Right now they carry a set of BFG G-Force KD sticky tires, and even in the rather moderate width the adhesion is good. I don't have to worry about bending or breaking spokes with the Wagons.
I plan on buying another set of wagon wheels to put some track tires on in the near future (I hope...). As FiberglassFan said, they're very strong, and they're cheap enough to where I won't have a mental breakdown if I screw up and something happens to them.
Yes they are strong, I put my car into a curb sideways 2 years ago and the force was so strong it snapped my knuckles, but the rims spokes were OK. They were unuseable though because the lips were damaged that they wouldnt hold air but the spokes are definately strong. And, they're cheap enough I dont care if they get nicked up by driving in the snow, mud etc.
Picked up my CCW's last August and I agree, I will never get rid of the wagon wheels. They're just hanging out in the garage waiting for some track rubber...
Glad to see someone else who likes the WW's! I had anguished recently over getting some different wheels for my 98 but I finally came to the conclusion that the wagon wheels look good on a white car and I would rather sink that money into better tires. So that's what I did!
