Active Handling on 97?

Active Handling on 97?
I read a posting several weeks ago stating that active handling came on later year 98+ C5's and could tell by whether or not it said "Active Handling" or "Traction Control" over the center console button. I don't have any writing on the center console at all, nor anything in the glove box indicating the option. I would have just dismissed having it, but i swear i've seen "Active Handling" on the DIC when i had to drive the car in the winter over ice. Do I have it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Active Handling became available in mid 1998 models.
The '98 Pace Car Replicas
came standard with it. There were 1158 of them built.
Another book says 1163 were built.

No, '97's did not come with active handling. You have traction control, but that is it.

Between the center console and the shift lever you should have a little button - that's the traction control button (turns it off and on),

I can tell you that AH has saved my butt many times and I for one will never want a car w/o this feature. I believe in 02 they upgraded it even more.
