I've had a really strange sound when I drove over certain bumps and I finally isolated it to my hood. For some reason my driver's side bangs when I go over bumps. I've tried to adjust the rubber stop, as well as to reposition the latch but no luck. My only solution was to wrap the hood striker with electrical tape, It works great but that usually wears out after a few hood closings. Help!

Got to be an adjustment in either the rubber tipped adjusters or the latch mechanism. Maybe check the mounting bolts that hold the hood on in the front too - they could be loose. May just have to experiment with it until the rattle goes away. Best of luck.
On a previous car I used to own, I opened/closed hood so often that the hinges were worn out and they have a little play. They caused a short, rattling-type noise when going over rough surface. Check to see if your hinges are in the same condition.
