Look, my car has been in the shop for 4 weeks out of the 5 I've owned it. I just got it back and one of the particular probs I brought it in for still doesn't work. The dealer replaced a telescopic module because the telescopic wheel did not retract when the key was pulled out of the ignition, nor did it respond to the memory positions. They told me that the telescopic module would also repair the exit lighting that did not go on when the key was pulled from the ignition. I let them have 2 full weeks to fix these 2 issues and the fact that my new runflats wouldn't hold air. Finally got it tonight. Telescopic wheel seems to work but the exit lighting doesn't. I know this sounds trivial but until you've given your brand 'new' 2000 coupe up to the dealer for 80% of the time you've owned it and made payments on it you might not realize the frustration it causes. Are there any techie types out there that know for sure whether the telescopic module has anything to do with the exit lighting coming on. None of my lights come on in the car when I pull out the key. I think, in my infinite stupidity and absolute absence of mechanical knowledge, that there is something wrong in the ignition switch causing the exit lighting to fail. For half of the 1 week that I had the car out of 5, the exit lights worked, then suddenly failed. This sounds like a really stupid thing to be worried about but I'm so sick and tired of calling this dealer and running my car back and forth and then having no faith at all in what they do. I love this car but these little things are ruining it for me. I've had so many other cars that have gone into the 100K+ range and never had the BS stuff go wrong like this one with 29K miles. Are these Vettes just trouble all the time or just mine?
