I imagine I would like it - if it weren't for the concept of paying $120 to well over $300 for less than $20 worth of materials. What an insane mark-up. Makes me think perhaps I need to be in the partition business.

This is why I decided to make one. But that's not all. I used sound board which is lighter and more efficient than fiber board. I also chose a fabric that matched my interior. They are easy to make. 3-4 hrs work.
I dont see why you would want light in the cabin, i personally would like it as dark as possible, it makes it impossible for people to look in the car if you have limo tint and very little light inside.
I agree. I like it dark. I just feel my way around.

I thought so too! Started off thinking the same thing as you but once I thought through what I would have to do to make my own, the $130 I paid actually looked like a bargain
Maybe if I had more free time but really didn't want to give up a Saturday. You'll have to make the tempate, go buy the material, cut the materials, sand, sew...
Send us some pictures when you get one done. They are great once you have one installed.
I found some nice 12 volt under cabinet "puck" style lights at Lowe's yesterday. They're black and even have louvers on 'em. I may put one on each side of the rear compartment. My car's at Dynotech right now getting a few more goodies done, but when she's back in the stable, I think this is the route I'll take.
What I did was a little cheesier, but looks great at night. I simply bought a 12inch red neon light stick and laid it against the wall behind the seats. It plugs into the cig lighter and the cord is hidden by the seats. I can plug it in when I want and take it out in the winter. Or I can opt to wire it in permanently. No one ever noticed the plug in.It lights up the partition really nice. I have Andy's red with the black insert and Z06 emblem. It looks great at night when you're at a cruise in or even driving with just that soft red glow.
