Would you do me a favor and check to see if your horn works (not by activating your alarm). The next time you get in your C5, hit the steering wheel to see if you can get the horn to honk.
I've pressed everywhere on my steering wheel and cannot get it to honk, yet the horn does work when the alarm is set. I'm wondering if a switch is not making contact.
I honked mine yesterday when I passed my nephew on the street.
, Dave!
Hey Steve, your avatar is misleading! I hope you're experiencing decent weather out there. I can't remember the last time I had to use the horn, so that may be the reason why it isn't working.
....anyone else not use your horn much with this same problem?
I had the opposite reaction. I pressed the horn icon on the airbag and it would not stop. By accident i rubbed the airbag icon and this stopped the horn for 1-2 minutes and would start and not stop. Pulled the fuse to stop. Two Forum members did respond after a thread was placed and the airbag is my problem. Airbag replacement is in my future.
Thanks, everyone. I guess this is not a common problem among C5s. I'll have the dealer fix it the next I taker er in. I'm guessing that inactivity allowed a layer of corrosion to build up and act as an insulator.
