Wife thinks I should wait, but the final decision is mine. I haven't really been looking at C5's, so not sure what a good price is.
I bought my 1998 C5 with the same mileage for $19000.........I say go for it, my car has not given me any problems and I love it!

Also, you better get a damn good waranty and any warranty on that car with that much mileage will be a pretty penny. Better do your research on Warranty companies too.

Not sure where you live but up here that car before you found damage is 18 to 18,500...with damage like you describe 17 to 17,500. Hope it helps and good luck.

Brand new vette would be about $50,000 and since the new ones are high priced the used ones are still bringing a premium. Go for it or it will be gone since it sounds like a very fair price and it is black.

Kelleybluebook.com will give you retail and trade-in values on any car. Good luck with your search for a C5.

That would probably be expensive to fix and I can't do it. Now what would be a good offer?? $18?

Of course that makes me wonder about the rest of the car. IF it was repo'd, it might have been abused before the bank got it back??
I paid $19500 for 98 mn6 with 70k on clock July 04. If this is a bank holding a repo get the vin and have it checked out. There are some forum members that can run it down for you as a courtesy. If the bank is holding this they want their money. Determine your top dollar and be happy just to walk away, there is always a deal out there.

I would find one that is the same price but no damage... they are around. One that has been a daily driver on highways...
