Default Kumho Tires

I just replaced my Yokohama Run Flats with some Kumho ECSTA ASX. I would highly recomend this tire. They are quiet, the ride is fantastic and they cost about one-half of the high priced big named tires. Absolutely a great tire. Looking forward to a great summer of Vette fun.

If you are in favor of getting more miles out of the rear tires, lift your right foot!

When I needed tires the MX's were out of Stock. So I got the Continental ContiSport Extreme Contact. Now, I have no complaint with this tire but I do want the MX's. I will get them next time.

How did you like the yokohama's? Which one was quieter, had the smoothest ride?

There is no comparison. The Yokohama tires rode hard and were noisy. The Kumho tires solved these problems. I think I am driving a new car.

Yes, Kumho Ecsta MX's are very great tires. I paid a little over $1,000 for the set though. I wanted to kick myself for dealing with Discount Tires after WAY cheaper prices offered at other places. Still a great looking and awesome performance tire. Added 15 rwhp

I'm looking towards buying the Kumho's.

What's the difference between the MX and the ASX? I realize the ASX is all-season, but is that it?

I've had ASX's on since January and love 'em too. Very quiet. Like you said.....feels and sounds like a new car. They are non-runflats, but I made up a patch kit w/Mercedes jack for FrederickC5 in Germany. I highly recommend his $50 jack for use with a C5. I bought my tires at Sears for $663 and paid $72 for installation and balance at Prestone Tire here in San Diego/La Mesa. Sears said they wouldn't mess with removing GY runflats. I can post some pix tomorrow after I get back home. I know alot of Kumho owners that love their tires.

I never tried these tires before but I'm sure these are pretty good. I just can't see my vette with "KUM-HO" on the sides of my tires.

Well, Soldier do you care about how they are looking or how they are treading?

It only comes out that way if you let your mind go there.... don't go there!

Well, I've read couple of threads on how good the Khumo tires are good and quiet, they are not runflats (I know that) but the ratings from the people using them are good. However, I also read this thread on ZEON 2SX Tires.

How big is the difference besides the thread. I like the Zeon tire thread (similar to the Firestones) as the Khumos are straight circle thread and not with the "V" shape
