I just bought a 2001 that is my first stick shift car. I'm still learning, to say the least. I have the stock shifter which I prefer for now. This is only because of the long throw! I can look at the shifter and tell what gear I'm in. I think if I had a shorter throw, I wouldn't be able to see where I'm at in the pattern (3rd or 5th; 4th or 6th for example). Am I crazy for thinking this?
Here is a 2.25" diameter, black, Belgian cue ball (@$7.00 delivered from poolanddarts.com) drilled and tapped. Dropped down over a B&M shifter shortened about 7/8".

You know what I need...is what I've seen on exotics. I'm not sure what its called but essentially there is no shift boot and at the base of the stick is a flat plate with the shift pattern routed out. You move the stick throughout the pattern in the plate. Clear as mud???
I posted this question about a week or so ago , wow what a gerat result . I just ordered a Momo **** for my BPP shifter (just ordered it also) so sometime this coming week I'll install them both . I did a search on yahoo for Momo shift ***** and almost every vendor showed a bunch of other ***** , alot to choose from .Good Luck!
So far I like the Hurst shifter the best. I tried to revive one this weekend actually but it was to far gone. So I may buy a new one and give that a try. They look sweet and since I have the shifter it's a fitting **** to install.
I prefer the snick-snick feel of an aftermarket shifter and since I wanted one that was adjustable, I bought the BPP (16-way adjustable) from LAPD. The added bonus is that with a short-throw shifter, the **** sits lower. As far as shifter ***** go, I wanted something that did not have flimsy injection-molded inserts (one **** fits all), so I created the Glass Elegance shift ****. There are no stitches or other irregular surfaces - just a glassy-smooth pistol-grip style shape that feels great. The link to plenty of C5 install pics and other interesting stuff can be found at the bottom of my sig.
I like your shift *****! I'm wondering if there is a way to intentionally make the ***** with a LOT of bubbles in them? I'm talking FULL of bubbles. Maybe it's just me, but I think they'd look really cool like that.
