Scared 'em off!
It's my lunch break and I'm sitting here eating, browsing the forum and occasionally glancing out the window at Red Racer.
For the last several weeks, some students in photography class have been taking pics of my car for some assignment(s) which of course, I don't mind. I think it's kinda cool.
Today there were a couple of guys with cameras around their necks out there looking it over inside and out. Just to have a little fun, I pressed the "lock" button on the keyfob to briefly illuminate the reverse lights.
You should have seen them! They looked all around...couldn't see me in my room 'cause the building windows are tinted...and quickly left the area.
Wonder what they would've done had I pressed the red panic-button...
you need a window valet - it's even more fun to raise and lower the windows on 'em
I had a friend do that to some guys at a car show - he was standing a little way off from his car, windows were down... A guy walked up to look at the interior, & he raised the windows... As soon as the looker started to walk off, the owner lowered the windows again, which caused a classic double-take. The guy goes and gets a friend and comes back to the car, & the same thing happens all over again. They walked off with totally looks on their faces

One of the guys that I know (Nuke Cop here on the forum) has a remote starter on his car that he actuates with his key fob. You want to see a bunch of looks....he leaves his hood open and bunches of folks gather around his car at the weekly show and shine - then he starts up that bad boy. He might be standing 100 feet away and we all laugh!
Not to steal this thread, I work in a retierment community. happen to be walking by a window that my vette happens to be parked infront of under cover. Noticed this golf cart with a couple sitting two feet in front of vette, which was no big deal, until i saw the 4 year old grand son walking around the car dragging his fingers over the paint. Well I couldn't resist, had to push the panic button. I think the woman right in front of the car, not cr*p her pants, but scared the hell out of her at the same time. I never seen someone move so quick to retrieve a child....I couldn't stop For an hour. Now about once a month they bring the little guy around to look at the car and keep him at a distance.

It's bad enough when young mothers let their kids fling their car doors open into the car parked next to theirs..now to read grandparents [ who should respect how hard one works to afford a nice car ] don't give a sh** really bums me out. I'd break the kids hands, push grandma and grandpa out of the golfcart and run them over with it.

I didn't think there was that much aggression in Ohio. Aren't you the mellow folks?
I used to do this with my S-10's remote start , It was great . One day I was parked in front of a Lambo and started it . All of a sudden all eyeballs were on my blacked out P.U. , like the Lambo didn't exist .
If I would have had a remote start, I would have used it... But then that old couple would have keeled over for sure. That, or she might have started beeting the vette with her husbands cain.
