That's just not right.......I've never seen anything like it before. Do you have any more details? Did you buy the car this way?

Alright, I just bought it from a small dealer two weeks ago. I knew something wasn't right, but wasn' too concerned. I'll take more pictures today and post them.

Here is a link to several photos of the fascia problem. You can see both sides are very similar. I think I may take the headlight apart and hopefully I can see underneath this area.

I think I would be taking the front facia right off. And see just what exactly is going on. I'll bet it's probably a new front facia after an accident. And whoever put it on didn't know what they were doing. Keep trying the pics so we can see whats going on under there.

Here's a thought...If both Rt and Left sides are similar, think about HEAT. What kind of headlights are (were) you using? The position suggests excessive heat at the lowbeam area.

Yes, I also mentioned heat a few posts back , but I think a past accident is the true cause.

I suspect the car has stock lights. I think the fascia has been off and during installation, a fastener was overtightened. I've been looking through the service manual about fastening the fascia. It appears there is a fastener in that area with very specifice torque requirements.

And whats up with my red X photos? I previewed the post and everything looked fine...

Ok this is what I found out. I took the headlight cover off and looked down inside the fascia and saw a big spring pulling the bent area down. WFT. If the pictures show up you can see how much tension was in the spring. I then loosened the fascia connection to the body panel in the bent area to try and relieve the stress on the fascia. It moved a little. With any luck at all, the fascia will move back to its original position over time. I doubt it, but I'm not going to let this thing ruin the car for me!

I just did a search on the site listed above and over 39,000 photos came up. Don't believe I have time to look at all of them.

Go to the "community" photos and and then type "indy300" in the "find a member" line near the bottom. Sorry for the hassle. I don't know why only 1 of the 4 photos showed up in my previous post.

I found your pictures, in Community and search for members. Man that's weird have springs like that there. I wonder if someone re-installing the facia put them there to hold it in place, till it was secured properly. Then never went back to take them out. They are the size of drum brake springs. Good thing you got them out of there. It may return to normal once things heat up in the summer. You could probably pull up on the corners every now and then. Over a period of time it should probably come back. Maybe heat the area with a heat gun and give it a try. Just don't burn the paint. Keep us posted. And good luck with it. And your right don't let it ruin your experience with the car. This is fixable.

If the car had been bumped at one time from the front, wouldn't it also cause some missalignment along the hood as well?

Is it possible that this is a slightly incorrect after market part?

With other cars, I think it's possible that the differences between a couple years might cause this sort of result. Are the C5 Corvettes all exactly identical in body style?
