The new Vararam 2b has a better filter than the older style that most don't like. Some guys like to replace even the new style with after market. I think the new stock 2b out flows any of the others and I am running it and happy with quality/performance.

I got a Vararam from LAPD, great service fast response. The filter that LAPD sells is a ok filter. I am planning on some PJ1 to help. I also ordered a K& N filter. That is an extra $44. LAPD can get them for you. They fit pretty well, but need some molding to help them seal.

Take Care,

I just installed the VB2 with the filter provided. I will see how it works out.

VR-B2 comes with a multilayer foam filter. It is designed more for the drag strip than daily driving. It works well under normal driving; i.e. non-dusty areas. The response is immediate and becomes more crisp at higher speeds. If you are using the car as a daily and in all conditions use the K & N filter - about $50.
Also if you are installing the system yourself, remove the shroud that the stock air box was mounted on for a much easier install. Becareful of the surroundind sensors and connections. Good LucK!
