Default Getting letters out!

I installed the "paper" reflective letters in the CORVETTE insert on the rear of my C5. I want to get rid of them and replace with the SS stainless inserts. Anyone take off adhesive letters before? Any tips?

Thanks

Default removing letters

Use a heat gun or hair dryer it soften the glue that is holding the paper letters in and peal out as much as you can ....3M makes a general purpose adhesive cleaner

part #
051135-08984 use a q-tip and and gently work the remainder of the glue off......wipe with alcohol and you are set to go.....

I am sure that you can get the cleaner a wal mart or Kmart or even a large paint store...... Good Luck

Most paint companies (Dupont,R&M ETC) have adhesive removers which are "paint safe" .

Try your local auto parts store ,I found some aerosal sticker remover that worked great to remove some old stickers from a car I bought.

Heating them with a hair dryer works too.

All the suggestions for removing the sticky residue are fine, but I think the question is...how to remove the letters in the first place. If it were me, I think I'd try a hair dryer and a nylon spatula (your wife won't mind if you borrow her's ).

A hair dryer is best...if your not good with a heat gun..ur be painting the rear end....once u warm them up..then come off pretty fast...then alittle wd40 will help you out with the glue....soap and water and a nice wax job and you will never know they were ever there....
