I got a set of blackouts for my car. The back ones go on easy but the fronts ones are more difficult. I cannot figure out how to move the front brake air ducts over far enough to loosen the turn signal lights. Any pro's here know how to do this?
You don't need to loosen anything. Just push along the top of the turn signals and they'll bend inwards, allowing you to slip the blackouts in. Great looking mod IMHO.

There is a spring holding the lens ***'y in place at the top. A word of caution...put tape temporarily around the rearmost paint as the blackout will scrape that area. After it is in, remove the tape.
Thanks for the responses. Man, that was easy. I actually tried to push in on the lights in the beginning but I didn't push at the top... once I did that it sprang right back. I didn't even need tape. I agree this is a cool looking mod. I also pulled out my #2 fuse to get rid of that DRL and make it look meaner.

Hey Chris2
Nice Mod.. ..its about time you finally did the blackouts...
...Pics please...
Nice looking...
...I remember the rear blackouts...thougth you would have finished the front...or that I had missed it...
...night cruising only for you???...
...hmmm "Stuz Cruz for Bugz"
I think it'd be cool to meet late in the evening... around 7ish at a place like Steak N Shake, have something to eat or drink and let the folks admire our cars then cruise up and down the Blvd like in the good ol' days. It sure would be cooler in the summer. I'd still be for cruising during the day but I have more time in the evening than during the day for it.
If I would have known putting the front blackouts on were going to be this easy you'd have seen them when you saw the rears.

I got the same set from Greg.... Push on the top of the turn signal and slide the blackout up into the top while gently bending it slightly to get it into the slot. Then you can slide it around.
I did the pushing on the top of the light and sliding it in method, but i have a sliver of the clear light still showing. Anyone else's like this? And i have no more play room or anything..

There is not suppose to be a sliver of light...
I pushed harder to get the lens to pivot...
...or you could loosen the housing and then tighten up if it doesn't want to give.
