With the labor involved in pulling the radiator for repair, I also would just replace it with a new one.
Also, if one tank cracked, the other one could fail anytime, so repair costs to replace both tanks could be almost as much as a new radiator anyway.
Basic hand tools can get the job done.... I installed a Dewitts radiator, Spal Fans, new silicone hoses in a few hours in my garage... It can be done. don't PAY someone to do that.
I'm in the Walnut Creek area. If you're willing to give it a shot I'd be wwilling to lend a hand. If not, Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista does A LOT of work on C5/C6s at a good cost. It's a bit of a drive, I know, but they are great to work with. Ask for Nick in service if you call. If you want someone local, speak to Cliffs Auto Pro Shop off Contra Costa in Pleasant Hill. He's sporadically worked on one or two and done some LS swaps as well. Mom and pop shop but he is way cool. Tell him Rico sent you
