Default Changing hood latches

Anyone changed their hood latches to chrome ones? Thinking about doing this and wondered if it's a PIA with the attached cable releases? Appreciate any info!

Changed the hood loops only...]

..never seen the others in chrome but I passed on the latches due to the grease that must be all around them...

I have them, but haven't installed them yet. Will be tackling that job in the next few weeks.

The pass. side looks pretty easy, the driver's side not as easy. The service manual calls for removing the cowl/air grille tray to better access the left latch. Looking at it today, I'm not sure if that's absolutely necessary, but it would open up some room to get your hand in there.

The calbe attachment is relatively foolproof. The end of the cable has a hook that hooks onto the latch, then the cable sheath slides into a slot on the latch.

Drop me an email at thimble@wi.rr.com and I can fwd the latch replacement instructions with pics.

very easy....best thing to do is to mark the old ones with a marker( something that will wipe off with a rag) at the corners so that the placement is the same.
As mentioned takes less than 20 minutes
