Default Hail Storm

Had a pretty severe hail storm this morning... (the hand is from the news channel, not mine )

The vette was out in it since I don't have the luxury of a garage at my apartment complex. Going to go check on it in a few minutes... wish me luck.

You should be OK. Fiberglass doesn't dent. I had a Camaro that went through a hail storm with that size hail in Orlando '92....it looked like a golf ball. All the dealers had specials on dented cars...except plastic or fiberglass cars.

Spent about 5-10 minutes looking it over... everything looks fine. It definitely needs a wash now though

Man, that storm really had me scared. Hooray for fiberglass.

I looked over my Mazda sedan too (not fiberglass), and I can't find any hail damage. I'm betting that it was a little too warm for the hail to be very hard-hitting.

It sounds like its time to find a garage.
You don't want to go through that again.

Good for you. I'm happy you had no damage.

We had a pretty good hail (golf ball sized) storm here Friday night as well. Both of my daughters cars, in the driveway, were slightly
damaged. I wondered how the Vette would have faired. Sounds like it would have been OK.
Glad I didn't have to find out though.

You should be fine. Fiberglass will crack but it will take a lot more than hail to do it. Also, hail will never chip your paint, so you should have no concerns there either.

I've looked at thousands of hail dmaged cars and never seen one Corvette in the bunch.

I saw an Acura NSX (all aluminum) once in Texas hit by 2" + hail. OMG! .

That's what I was concerned about. I figured hail could probably easily chip a little bit off. That's a relief though, if it's true in all cases.

The bodies are pretty safe from hail damage, not so the windows if the hail hits them just right. Sounds like you got lucky this time.

You were very lucky in not getting any damage. BTW, there is no fiberglass on a C5.
