Default Zip is a RIP!!!

I ordered a C.L.B. from Zip products. Their website showed it and describes at as coming with the cigarette lighter power cord. When it arrived there was no power cord. I called them and got some **** and bull story about how it will be easier to install without the lighter plug. Now I have to mess around pulling fuses. It's not what I was led to believe I was ordering. The only thing they did was change the photo, but not the text description, on the web site. They expected me to pay shipping both ways ($10) because of their error.Their "no hassle guarantee" is B.S., I won't buy anything from them again, And hope forum members think twice about it also.

I bought an electric door switch for my old C4 from zip and it took forever to arrive too. I could have went to the local dealership and obtained it faster for less money. I think they sell out of an empty wagon.

I bought mine from Thunder Racing. No lighter cord either. Just pull the #25 fuse from the floor board fuse panel, very easy. Total installation time was around 25 minutes.

Default Good Service on My End.

I've placed two orders with them and was surprised with the speed of delivery. Items were as described.

I understand your frustration with Zip...I`m not a big fan either. It is not nessesary to send the CLB back because it doesnt have the Power cord...Check out this link on building and installing your own CLB, Easy!

Sorry about your misfortune. I've placed at least 3 orders with them and have been satisfied in each instance.

I just received my clb from Thunder Racing and it came without the CL power connector and instruction for #25 fuse pull.

Ron,
I did not install mine yet. Did you have any problems with removing the upper or lower knee panels? Especially around the Temp sensor. Any tips?

The CLB is an evolving device. Intially they did not come with the nice power cord with the factory type plug connector on them. Sellers found out that they were more user friendly so they were upgraded to include the plug connector. Now, during the course of evolution someone else has figured out that it is actually easier to just remove the fuse at the right time and that completely eliminates the need for the lighter plug-in, wire and connector.

Be happy with your CLB! I love knowing that mine is protecting me from being in a jam at a very inconvienent time.

Don't look at having to remove the fuse as a rip-off but rather as puting you on the cutting edge of technology.

I got my CLB from corvette's of houston last month and it came with the power cord. All it does is unlock the steering column while the car is off. You can use mine if you're willing to pay for shipping, but if not, just pull the #25 fuse...!

In Zip Products defense, I bought some acrylic FRC lettering and their service was great. I changed my mind on the color and sent them back with no problems... They are a class act in my book

The cig lighter plug sure makes it easier to work on the install. Mine from Thunder Racing came with it. If you can make it work, just pull the fuse as described above. Better than paying for all that shipping. Just don't order anything else from them in the future.

Yeah ZipProducts suck as far as prices go. I flipped when I saw my billet corvette ball for $60 at a car show when I paid $113. That was a hard pill to swallow.

it seems that's the way the new CLBs are being shipped. do they still charge the same price for it without the cord?

seems like they're just interested in increasing their profits.

Yes, The price is the same. They say you just throw the power cord away after one use so it was discontinued. What ticked me was that the power cord was still being shown with the CLB on their site. When I complained about fraud and false advertizing, they quickly changed the photo, But surprisingly not the text, Which still states that it comes with the power cord. Would you be hot if your car came with out wheels? It's a matter of principle. They did not want to hear my complaint, They just blew me off. So I'll just take my $$$$ elsewhere. My new vanity plate? I got mine from jMX (ls1howto guru) when he was selling them himself. It came with the power cord and I believe I paid $35 for it. I know I have that power cord somewhere..

I have ordered stuff from them for 2 years for both my vettes and have always had quick shipping and no problems...luck of the draw I guess. I wouldn't have counted them out originally b/c **** happens, but if that is the kind of service I would receive after the fact if something did go wrong I would be pissed too!
