Default led tail lights---- advice!!?

I just installed 4 led tails lights in my 2000 vette and all works fine--- 4-ways -- tail --- stop--- the turn signals work as well, but seem to flash "double time" -- is this normal for leds??? i got them from autolumination.com and followed all instructions. i did install 4- 6ohm equalizers in each light as well. nice looking , but just wondering about the f-a-s-t turn signals. thanks in advance.

Yeah. It's normal. The low resistence from the LED's causes it.

I'm wondering if the load equalizer isn't enough. Did you address this with Chris from autolumination?

I hope we can get this resolved soon. I've been looking how to do it, and the only thing I can think is get a stronger resistor in there.

If you get any info, please keep us posted.

Be sure to email Chris Bacon about your troubles. He was just asking me today how I set mine up. Since I have European taillights, I don't have these same problems (2 different circuits).

How do you have the load equilizers hooked up?

I found that I had to have the outside lights ground and outside leed and the inside bulbs ground to inside leed.

Same here. But, I'd like to eventually get amber LED's for my signals.

Still need to figure that solution for everyone else as well ...

Be interested to know which version you used, I tried the 24 or 25 led version and they don't seem as bright as stock.
On the flasher problem - I just wired the stock bulb (painted black)in parallel with the LED bulb to get the right load and it works fine.

Ben Dover,

thats a really clever idea. It would not only make the car think everything is perfect, but would save money in that you will not need to buy 4 load equalizers or resistors which doesnt seem to be working anyway. Im assuming you had to attach a bulb for each taillamp just like normal?

thanks for you help!!! i have been talking w/ Chris and he offered some advice. i did find that the clips supplied with the lights didn't work and they were part of the problem. i put a wire nut on each connection witht he equalizers and that helps. now i have the correct turn signal speed, but when i step on the brake or turn on the driving lights w/ the turn signal on they (turn signal") move into "double time" again. i will keep you posted. i do like the led look, but not the hassel that goes w/ them. i would recommend that wire nuts be applied to each line and the clips take a ride on the garbage truck. thx

Fraid so, but you can bend the bulb leads and solder a short wire to them and connect with t-connectors.

Are you guys saying to just wire the original bulb back into the wiring system and put the led lites in the socket-- remove the equalizers-- and it will work????? not too swift when it comes to this - so bear with me. would it be that easy??? thx oh, i used the 25 leds.
