Lets hope I finally talked to the right person here. After reading over and over about fuel cutoff, fuel cutoff, etc....I talked to someone within GM that really seemed to know what he was talking about. He states that these cars only have a fuel cutoff, so Ranger you are 100% right and I was wrong. It's amazing how even GM techs don't have a clue how our rev limiters work. They work a little differently than the MPH fuel cutoffs, but still all in all its the same. So, I'm back to wondering why I run slower shifting at the 6500 mark on the 3-4. Robz, let us know what you find out.

In your owners manual it states 6250 RPMs.

You can also program the Skip Shift light to function as a shift light w/ LS1edit. I have the skip shift light set at 6500 and have the limiter moved to 7000, with the goal of shifting at 6500-6700. This way if I'm a little off, I don't hit the limiter. I have breifly hit the 7000 limit a few times while drag racing with no problems. I would not recommend extended periods (road race or autox) above 6500 on stock valve train parts.
