I took mine out of storage yesterday....All is well, until I went out for dinner last night. Two people pulled out in front of me. I was waiting at a red light...when the light turned green I had to wait for the guy who blew the red light, and would have wasted me if I went...I was waiting at another light when a young girl on her phone almost rear ended me.
And to top it off....my wife and I were walking through the parking lot after dinner when a car with some fat bitch driving about 30 almost hit us..when I gave her the WTF look she gave US the finger...
I was going to say it's because your home and we here in Vancouver are the worst driver's on the continent. But after reading the posts it's clear that were not alone in having A-holes on the road. Then again I know we have more than our share. On Tuesday some kids tossed a bicycle wheel off an overpass and hit a car. No one hurt but the driver has put up $500 reward to find this idiot. I am glad they didn't hit your car and hopefully we'll all see better days.
Zilla - I can't remember when you went on this much of a before. We all know, many people are jerks and an equal number seem to drive around in a daze and seeminglly unconcerned about others around them.....seems like Defense Driving is still the strategy of the day.
When it comes to having to drive with an "edge" just to keep from getting broadsided by another vehicle I just have to wonder how vigilant you have to be just to drive to the grocery store (forget a mall parking lot!) in a populated area!... Case In Point... This is NOT a knock on Long Island, or any other place in particular. I notice that the Long Island guys are very active with alot of stuff happening all the time... GREAT!... BUT, as a guy who spent his whole life living on LI (before moving up to Maine) I have ALOT of trouble seeing the point of driving a Vette given the unbelievable traffic. When I was a kid (in the '60's)... I'd come home from a bar at 2am and the roads would be empty... now they're as busy then as most other times! Just to get back to topic... while the Maine weather is limiting my own personal driving time at least this state is pretty "rural" (the interstate "95" is about 5 miles from my home, we have one blinking light & one regular light between here & there_)..., I don't understand how "threatening" it must be to have a vette in ANY populated area... I have to go to to LI on the 16th, I'm gonna do a little showboating & bring the Vette... but yes, I'm concerned... even the idea that I'll have to park on the street has me jittery! (the car will never travel the "Cross-Bronx"... if you know what I mean!)
