Default Racing seat installation

I just picked up a pair of Sparco Pro 2000 seats or a 2004 Z06. Does anyone have any tips / guidance on successfully installing them? I would like to keep the driver's side moveable if possible. I will also b using a harness bar & 6-point harness.

Thanks

gss,
I installed the same seats in my 02. I used the Sparco bottom mounting hardware and the manual slide kits. Both are available from Sparco distributors. PM me for info on the vendor that I got mine from. I don't think the vendor is a supporting one on this forum.

Use the hardbar stuff...it's by far the best. Go to the roadrace section of the forum...Harbar sponsors that section. I don't think anyone makes a movable slider for race seat mounts. You will be stuck with one position, so make sure it's comfortable.

Are you racing the car or just putting them in for looks?

Jersey,
I got the specific (for the C5) Sparco bottom mount brackets, along with the sliders for my Sparco seats and the info that came with the sliders confirmed they were FIA homologated.

"High performance driving schools" - not technically racing, but 150+ mph - so they aren't just for looks.

Did the kits allow a simple bolt-in installation using the factory mounting studs? The dealer supplied me with side mounts and a slide for the driver side, but the side mounts are way too short for a Corvette.

Phil

Thanks for the info. I tried to post private message, but could not. See posted reply.

Does Hardbar make custom mounts for bolt in installation? I checked out the website, but it wasn't real clear. I will call them tomorrow.

Thanks

I used the Sparco corvette-specific bottom brackets, Sparco universal sliders, and Speedware Motorsports black annodized aluminum side mounts all on my Roadsters.

Greg,
The mounts were a direct bolt in on the stock studs. It's a tight fit, but they do fit. Sparco part nos. for the brackets are 400SB019R and 400SB009L. You can email me at flipper58@comcast.net if you need any more info.
