I was reading another post here where the fellow stated that his car (according to the VIN#) was # such & such for that year... how do you go about finding that out... I have a red '97 & am curious as to how early (or late) in the run it was manufactured. Thanks.
Post your Vin # and ask Sponge Vette to get a report on the car for you. Or go to your dealer and have them run your Vin # and they can print out a report on the car for you. It will give you the born on date and when certain components were scanned into the system for your car. Great report for the scrap book. Another thing you can do is buy a build sheet from the National Corvette Museum and that gives you a bunch of info too but not the born on date.

And if all else fails you can open the drivers door and read the label on the end of the door. It will tell the month and year your car rolled through the assembly line but not the exact day. Of course it was on the line for several days anyway, so it wasn't built in just one day as many might believe.
