Blacked out dash...
One of the odd features in my previous daily driver, a red 2002 Saab 9-5, that I really liked was the "nightime" button. You hit the button and it turns off all dash lights except the speedometer. On long nightime highway drives it really takes the strain off tired eyes and makes it easier to focus on the road.
Three hours into a nightime drive across NC I thought...man I wish my C5 had that button, then I realized that I could dim the dash manually and just use the HUD. What a relief. Does anyone else do this? If not, I highly recommend it.

Good call.
I'm with you ... I just don't have a HUD.
I just turn off all the gauges during moments of "spirited driving" at night ... helps me see the road better.
