I am a newbie here! Just pick up my Coupe yesterday pretty much on a whim. The wife and I were out looking for a small SUV and came home with a 2000 silver Vette in immaculate condition. So please get me to speed with all the "Must Do" mods and lingo. So far, I know I have aftermarket exhaust, air intake and Z06 wheels - not sure what kinda of exhaust or intake yet until I get the rest of the paperwork later this week. Looks like there's a plethora of GREAT information here on this board. I know I have a lot of searching and reading to do.
Welcome to the forum!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we all do. It looks like whoever owned your car previously got you off to a good modding start. Next will be headers, a heads/cam setup, torque converter, gears, supercharger, and the list goes on and on. If you are more of an aesthetic fanatic replace those ZO6 wheels with a set of HREs or CCWs (look at my sig). Congrats on the new vette and dont forget to post some pictures of it.
On a whim!? While looking for an SUV!? And you both agreed!?
MORE DETAILS on how that happened!
OK, not on a complete whim. We have been wanting one for a long time. She owned a vette with her ex-boyfriend back in 90 and my father had a 77 stingray. We have talked about getting one for a long time. She's been driving a Jeep Cherokee for several years now and it was time for something new. Yesterday, we went out to look. We stopped at Barnes & Nobel to pick up a couple "review" magazines to compare the Lexus 330/Nissan Murano and the Infinity FX35. We then went to a couple dealers to look and then stopped at a pre-owned hotrod consignment shop. They have everything from vipers, cobras, prowlers, vintage hotrods, etc. We both fell in love with it. She was so happy looking at the vette, I knew she wouldn't be this happy in another SUV. What can you do?
Welcome ... you'll love the car.
Get ready to spend some money.
Reasonable first expenses for your car.
I'd get the following first.
1) New air intake (must be able to breath)
2) New exhaust (must be able to exhale) Preferably, header to exhaust tip. But definitely after cat system.
3) New ties (you'd be surprised how good the ride is after you get rid of those Good Year Run Craps)
With these purchase you'll love the way the car responds.

Congrats on the car. Just hang around here and look at what others have done to theirs - that should give you an idea of what items are popular - but nothing wrong with making it very unique either.
