Default A Wheel Problem

Hello all,

Still enjoying my new ride. I have included some photos, I'm so proud!

Thanks to all that has helped my with some of my earlier questions.

I have another one for you. I found out today that my vette came with the Z-51 performance package, and excellect suprise. I called a dealer and had them run the VIN number. My questions is the rims. It's a 2001 coupe and the Rims look alot like the Z06 but there chrome and have rivits around the outside of the rim. The sizes are 245/40/17 in front and 275/35/18's in the rear. So, there not the same size as the Z06.

Can anyone shed any light on these? Are they stock? Options? Aftermarket?

BTW. First time trying to post pictures. Hope it works

Thanks again for your help.

Wow, that's some serious mods. Nice car. Those are aftermarket wheels and are usually called the ZO6 Motorsport Wheels. They are most definately chrome. Congrats and enjoy your car.

Thanks everyone,

You guys rock. Thanks to army2000 i did find these as Motorsport Z06 rims. I also see that they have a black set up as well. That could be interesting look. Maybe go a size up and put racing tires on for autocrossing. Would there be any issues with doing this? Alignment? Rubbing ? That sort of thing.

I forgot got to post but the fuel rails are painted the same color as the interior.

Cant wait to meet some fourm members at up comming events. I'm in CA. Anyone know of a club in the SoCal that does alot of autocrossing?

Looks like you're roughly in the San Dimas area? We have a group that meets in the San Fernando Valley and/or Thousand Oaks area that does a lot of Canyon Runs. We even get up to the Angeles Forest area on occassion. Keep your eyes on the Pacific Events section for "GOCC" and So. Calif. Mountain Run events.

I had exactly the same thought. That's unique enough that it shouldn't be coincidence.

Hmmm...

Hi SuiVette -

As stated - aftermarket Z06 Motorsports.

Check the wheels and tires forum for specific info about how big you can go - but you know you can get at least Z06 stock sizes on there with no problems.

Your car is gorgeous. I love the flames. Thanks for the pictures

To the folks who think they have seen this car before - It looked very much like Mike Heffner's (sp?) car to me. His car was black with the purple ghost flames and the c5 logos painted on...

best regards -

They are 1 piece cast motorsport mockups..

I have 3 piece forged wheels in that exact style.

They are the Z06 Motorsport wheels - I like them a lot. Most of the forum vendors sell them and yes, they are aftermarket wheels.
