seems like alot of the time, i have to hit the unlock button 3, 4, 5 times or more to unlock the passenger door. the driver door unlocks with one press virtually every time. but me being the chivalrous guy i am, i like to get the door for my sweetie. i am in the habit now of pressing the button a half dozen more times after i see the lights come on because that's generally a safe number to unlock the door. anybody else run into this?

haha...i always find myself doing the same thing. I press that button like 5 or 6 times to make sure it's open. I agree tho, sometimes if you just press it twice it doesn't unlock the passenger side.

You all dont use the Passive option, to automatically open doors.. Or was that an extra option only on certain cars? I thought all C5s had it

Some thought that was an "annoying" option and turned it off. We hung our keys just inside our garage door and it would unlock/lock sometimes from there.
If you had the window valet, you would know from a distance when the passenger door was unlocked because your windows would be going down too. They go down on the third push of the unlock...or in your case the 4th or 5th or 6th push...
Also, you may try to "aim" the fob at the receiver that is behind the driver front fender well and see if you have any better luck.

My passenger door usually unlocks on the second push of the fob button. Could be the angle you approach the car. Sometimes mine does not want to acknowledge the remote if I come towards the car from a certain angle.
This is a common problem on C5's. I had the same intermittant problem; always the pax side. Dealer replaced the module under warranty. Problem solved. If it is not under warranty, it will run about $350.
