Default Cleaning Radiator core

I looked under the nose and at the radiator core yesterday and about died. It looked like an old wheat field up at the top. Tried to flush from engine side with water hose but that didn't do much. Finaly got under nose and took a shower as I tried to clean it out.

Anyone got a trick method for cleaning radiator ??

I use a vacuum cleaner and use the thin crevice adapter. Then wrap cardboard around it so that I can cut it to reach up in there. Plus it's softer and won't hurt the core. So far it's worked great.

Here's a "crevice" and device that works for food ... although it's not really thin ... just hand it a vacuum cleaner hose and let it work ... sorry for the dupe.

Hi DJones14 -

I use a paintbrush and my shop vac -

Gently brush the cig butts ( ) and grass etc from the top where it all gets wedged in and let it fall while moving the vacuum hose around to catch it.

It works best dry.

I was surprised to see how much stuff gets caught up there. since I have had my lift, I just pick stuff out every couple of weeks. I used to do it when I changed the oil.

best regards -

Pull it completely out and hit with a high pressure hose. You are not getting much of "stuff," out of the radiator with a vacuum or a brush.

Hi #001 2001 Z06 -

Are you saying drain and remove the radiator each time you want to clean the grass and cigarette butts out of the shroud where it meets the front top of the radiator?

That sounds like a lot of work to me.

I have to disagree that I am not getting much debris out of the radiator. I wish I would get LESS out of it!

best regards -
