Not everyone knows or follows the same guidelines for smiley usage - I too think the original post was in jest, and assuming that's true I would say back off our Vette brother.

Bet the guy in the Mustang must feel like a looser for waisting a wave on you. My advice, go sell your car. Attitudes like yours are what give Vette owners the stigma we fight so hard to overcome.

I think I would have returned the wave just out of common courtesy. What did you have to loose by returning the gesture?

Man, I suprised by the lack of humor here. My original post was to make fun of the people who take themselves way too seriously. Before I bought the vette I had a Saleen Mustang vert that I loved. Just thought I'd try a vette this time around.

Lighten Up.. I wave at all other vert and get more waves back from non-vette owners than I do vette owners. It's not just a "brotherhood" of vette owners. I also belong to the "brotherhood" of vert owners.

I love the 05 Stang. Gonna get me one of them puppies!

To the original poster - just wave back. I wave to people in minivans who wave at me or who move out of the fast lane as I approach them from behind at light speed.

It doesn't hurt to be polite.

It's funny reading most of you attacking him for not waving back, I'd bet all of you wouldn't wave back at some kid in a Rustang either.....

But I did notice a sexy brunet in a 05 yellow rustang checking me out today at an intersection......I would definately wave at her. .......

I wave at most people, but not many mustangs, unless maybe a Cobra or someone I know.

True but where I come from in this city the only wave you get from other cars is the finger.

I just my C% about 6 weeks ago... immaculate consition in NC... the reason the folks were selling it?... they were waiting for their new Mustang convertable. I actually went to their FOrd dealiship and saw the newly arrived car... but in all honesty, neither my wife nor myself would have given up a pristine C5 for it... just our opinion... but still, talk about Vette/Stang comparisions!

There has been more than one occasion that I have instinctively waved at a Vette while driving my truck. They probably wonder who I am. Maybe that's all it was.

This happens to me all the time. I can drive my vette for a week straight and never see another vette. Rest assured the day I am in my Acura, there is usually a Corvette parade going the opposite way. Sometimes I wave and get that, "What are you waving at?" look and sometimes they wave back.

No harm in waving or giving a thumbs up to a fellow car lover. I used to have a Mustang GT and loved it. I also wanted a Vette so bad I could taste it, just to be part of the brotherhood. Now, I'm happy to talk to anyone who wants to wave, smile, ask questions or here it rev. It beats acting like a snob, I am just fortunate to own something that is a dream for a lot of people.

BE NICE, you never know who is waving at you.....

I am with you. I'll wave at anyone that waves at me. That's how the wave got started. It's not a Corvette thing it's an automobile thing. It got started long before the Vette was introduced. It's just that the Corvette guys have adopted it and now think it's theirs. Not so. It denotes friendliness and enjoyment of the motoring world. My .02

Today while on one of my favorite roads along the Tacoma waterfront, a '65 4-door Chevy approached me and the young driver gave me a friendly wave...of course the good Vette ambassador that I am , I waved back. It was a well-kept car and the kid obviously was proud to be in it. Sooo...it was 2 car enthusiasts acknowledging each other no matter that we drove different cars.
