i read a while ago in some vette mag that the k40 didn't do any better than others out there and in some cases did worse!they compared a few detectors.i wouldn't spend all that money for a radar detector!get a passport 8500 x-50,or a valentine.you'll save a ton and accomplish the same thing in the end!good luck.

I, also, use the K40.
It has been on all of my C5's (5 of them).
I still have thme on my '99 and '04.
They perform flawlessly.
Those that opt for the Valentine, etc., appear to shy away from the K40 because of cost, or evaluations done, in many cases, by the manufactures that are out to promote their product(s) - IMO.
SO, as the old saying goes - You get what you pay for.

DO NOT FALL FOR THE JAMMER SCAM. I spent all that money on the rocky mountain things and then on the K-40. they were both a complete and total waste of money. They do NOT work. The K-40 works, but no where close to well enough to warrant all the money you are gonna spend, and the RMR don't work at all, they are a complete scam. Spend the money on a nice V1 or *COUGH* an ESCORT. You can't go wrong with either of those.
