What's the big deal? If there seems to be a problem when you take them off, put them back on!

All the best.

QUESTION:

How are they best taken off? Do I use a flathead screwdriver to pry them off? Rip them off with my teeth? And how about the sticky stuff holding them on - does it just rinse off?

I'd like to remove them without damaging the door. thanks.

Member England Green has this illustraded guide for their removal. Take a look:

Take the strongest fishing line you can find, "saw" through the BSM and the door using a hairdryer to heat the adhesive backing. Take your time and don't be tempted to pull them off once you get some of it off.

my advice:

let it set in the sun till they're nice and warm, take a piece of 30# mono fishing line get behind and molding and start to "saw it off"..it's just held on with thin sticky 2 sided tape........ don't be tempted to grab the molding and pull!.... a little wd-40 sprayed on the top of the molding helps. when you're done, clean off the goo with wd-40, then wax, or maybe a little scratch remover then wax.

again, don't go to fast!!, take your time, gloves help with the fishing line..... i actually tied the line to 2 short (~5") wood rods.

no problem'o.

I've been considering removing BSM but I was getting gas the other day when a gust of wind flung the door into a rail. BSM saved my door; now I like them a lot and besides it kinda looks like the DEI emblem.

The Bsm's don't really bother me one way or another. Just curious, does anybody have pics of pewter before and after shots?

A claybar worked great to get that last bit of adhesive off the car that I couldn't get off with my finger.
