Default Hazard Light Switch Replacement

How dificult is it to replace the switch?
I do know that the dash has to come out to get to it.

What would the dealer charge for this job?

Check out Joshker's HUD retrofit page since it illustrates how to remove the dash pad to get to the hazard switch.

When I first got my C5 the hazard switch went out. Not covered under warranty. I knew nothing at that point about removing dash so I had the dealer do it. Cost me about $275.00.

Move ahead a couple of years and I'm doing the HUD retro-fit and gauge bezels following instructions from Josh. Easy as pie.....wish I had the instructions then. Just take your time and its a no brainer and I'm probably a 6 on a scale of 1 - 10 in terms of auto DIY.

Wish I had the instructions then.....I could use that $275.00 to tuck back for my GHL's....

I dont know what a dealer would charge but there is a way to get to the switch. But I would think "A Lot". It is time comsuming. These instructions with pictures will get you there. They are for DIY for putting in dash aluminum besels. Good Luck if you try to do it youself.

From what I have seen in the postings were a lot of people have done this. Maybe someone who has done this will give you better information.

Good Luck

Yes, it involves removing the upper dash panel. I had mine done about a year ago. It was done under warranty, but the cost was about $125.00

I had my instrument cluster out last weekend and I noticed it was fairly accessable from the right side of the opening, but I don't know if you can get it out from there. If you can, that would be the way to go.

Others chime in here...
