I have an Artic White coupe with the glass top, man does it get hot
Thinking of tinting the rear wndow, since the glass top is dark should I try & match it ?
Any pics ?
Thanks

Just a suggestion, if you do have it done have them vinyl the dot matrix (don't worry, it won't affect view). I had a nightmare when I took the installers word that this didn't need to be done. It took four trips and them finally putting in vinyl to fix it. The tint has trouble adhereing to the dot matrix and bubbles.

Though I've got a Nassau Blue vert, I did 20% on the sides but left 35% on the rear. Though I think the darker would have looked cooler, have you ever tried to look out of it backing up at night?
Besides, here in NC where 35% is legal, seeing a pitch black window in the back would just give an officer a reason to pull you if you were borderline getting pulled over for say, speeding.

The tint will help but what you really need is a top liner. I'm not sure where to get a good one. Mine came with the car. It is in place from May until about September.
You can cook in one of these coupes if you don't have a liner!
By the way, I did the 5% tint as well but some states are **** about that percent! Check out the laws where you live.
Not the best picture (lousy weather) but here you go. Thanks to Forum member 1Bernie1 for the photo!

It's just black vinyl applied with glue. Once on that area of the window will look like black trim. Some guys will paint this area instead. Others will sand the dots down so the tint will hold.

One of the first things I did was order a liner, Mid America, half arss fit but it sure helps.

Strange this should come up tonight. I've got an appointment tomorrow at 230 to do the windows. My buddy just had them done for $250 at FL legal limits.
I'm ordering MI legal but don't know the difference.
Eitherway, I'll try to post here tomorrow night with more info. I understand some types can fade. So I'm not going to get cheap on it
5% all the way around my white FRC and it looks really good. I don't have a camera yet so i can't post pics, but if you can find someone to do 5% all the way around it looks the best. just keep your windows rolled down when gettin your car inspected.

Thanx for the tread

....make sure to bring some blankets to cover up your rear quarter panels during installation. They have to lean all over the car to do the back window. I had to take mine back because of chafe marks in the clear coat. I got lucky and their detail guy took care of it. Good luck with your guys.........
I've heard that some installers will use a special paint in the center, upper portion of the coupe's rear glass. I've seen where they follow one of the lines (second one down I think) with the paint and use tint on everything else. This method allows for a better finish of the tint in the end.

Just my .02 worth...

In NC the rear window can be painted black for all they care, it's the side windows that have to be 35%.
