Default CD Changer Connector location - HELP!!

Can anybody tell me in a detailed way (pictures would be great!) where the unused cd connectors are located in the passenger footwell?

I know they are there, but I can't seem to find them...

(Trying to hook up an IPOD.)

THANKS!

the two are not right next to each other.

the "difficult" one is underneath the carpeting near the footwell opening - and is often taped to another harness. It's very difficult to find.

Pull up on the floor carpeting "edge" that has become exposed with the footwell cover removed - near the passenger door corner. Slide your hand inbetween the carpeting and floor.
Then about 6-8 inches towards the rear of the car from that "edge" you should find the "difficult" connector. But you'll need to undo/cut/tug the tape holding it against the other harness.

Thanks Mike for the info -
That ought to lead me to mine. (posted almost same question a couple of days ago).

Great! Found it!! It has three wires, right?

Now that I found the difficult one, where's the easy one?

Just thought I would post a followup to this post now that I have the thing done for any of you that were also following this to get your own IPOD hooked up to the factory HU.

I ordered the Peripheral IPOD2CAR adaptor along with the $8 Corvette adaptor cable (GM1 cable). I do NOT have a changer in the car and the changer harness was like $70. YOU DON'T NEED IT!!

I just took the $8 cable, cut the end off of it that is supposed to plug into the cd harness and hard-wired the 6 wires right on the back of the HU. The wiring diagram is INCLUDED in the IPOD2CAR installation manual. Took about 15 minutes start to finish and it works great. Didn't have to buy the cd harness, didn't have to find the wires in the passenger footwell or any of that.

It was a piece of cake...

Yep, if that works for you then that is the quickest, easiest route to go!

But you will lose signal quality with an FM Modulator and if you have replaced your speakers with some high quality ones, put in an amp and subwoofer, then you'll hear all that noise just like I did and want to throw the FM Modulator out the window!!

If you've got a stock system, go wireless. It's quick and easy. For the rest of us, hard wiring is the way to go!!

I'm glad that worked so well for you. My first setup was with a CD MP3 changer that was RF linked. And indeed, it was very simple to "get working".

But, my ears weren't happy. Maybe it's due to all the years I spent building home speaker systems and thus developing an "ear" for frequency response and imaging- but the drop in fidelity using the FM transmitter interface was not acceptable to me. I returned the unit and went the direct-connect route as others here have done.

Actually i agree , ipod2car is teh ONLY way to go - fm things go funny too often for my liking ... i was sick of changing 'fm stations on the pod every other suburb'...

but its painless if you detach the cable that connects to the cd-changer unit in the trunk and take that end piece and connect to the $8 cable (above) where it in turn plugs to the ipod2car - the ipod2car has a long white lead that plugs into the ipod and presto - just run that cable to the front whereever you want it and your done!
(some tuck their pod into the arm rest - other have done but say their pods overheated ???) -- for me so far ive left it out, like a remote - easy to see/change songs and it tucks away easily if i need it too....
