I just bought a GM bra based on all the threads I read here about how good it is for the money. I was going to buy the Speed Lingerie bra, which I don't think anyone will dispute is a good one, but I couldn't justify over $550 for a bra that I only intend to use on road trips. You can get a GM bra for around $75. I guess if money was no object, I'd opt for the color matched Speed Lingerie. Dan
I bought my GM bra from Ken Fechtner Chev a few years ago for about $70. Just make sure you have plenty of wax on your nose before instal and keep it clean (as well as the underside of the bra) when installling.
You may want to buy a few marine snaps for installation. They hold the bra nice and tight.
The GM bra is a very good value. Easy to put on & take off once you do the initial install. Use marine quality snaps instead of the rubber mounted snaps that come with the kit. I used a GM bra on the 5,800 mile cruise back to BG & Nashville for the 50th. Have now replaced it with the 3M Clear Bra which is very expensive to have installed, but is almost totally invisible in place.
I'm not a fan of bras (on cars) but they do serve a useful purpose on sustained runs on the highway IMHO. I got a great deal on a slightly used SL bra a couple of years ago but, strangely enough, have never fitted it to my coupe. Then again, I've never taken a long trip in the C5 either. The seller threw in the mirror covers for free. The bra and mirror covers are of excellent materials and construction.
Mrs. Patches and I are scheduled to motor up to BG for the Memorial Day CF Cruise-In so I guess it's time to pull the bra out for a test fit. Below are the original owner's pics with the bra on his (also) TR coupe.
I've got a GM bra I need to pick up. You guys have me a bit nervous about the install and the snaps that go in the wheel well. Being in Iowa, it's a little hard to find a marine store close by, any other options?

I'd recommend the GM bra - been running one on my car for over three years and it does not flap, fits well, and protects well. Can't beat the price either.
Last stupid question. The marine snaps replace only the 3 (on each side) screws and rubber grommets, and just screw in inplace of existing screws, no washer, nut, etc?
I use the GM bra. It came with everything you need, including snaps. Very easy on/off application.
The only drawback is that it does not protect above the headlights.
For that you may want to check out the Colgan bra which is also an easy on/off bra.
I have that too.
