1999 A4 with 15,000 miles.Column locked few days ago,got the usual pull key/service column lock,am in Kuwait so little if any local assistance available.
Got a friend to Fedex a CLB Kit which was received today.Using the kit,got the column unlocked and installed the CLB with not much difficulty,if I, with one arm, can do it -anyone can.Get it done.
The problem I need help with is I am still getting pull key/service column lock and engine shuts down when when trying to drive car.
Resetting does not help, pulled fuses 25 and 29 waited a minute-no help, disconnected negitive battery cable for 5 nimutes, also no help.
Sure looking for ideas and help with this. One more point the car is an export model A4 and Ibelieve GM treats these like a domestic MN6 in that PCM needs to be flashed to get rid off the fuel shut off.
Any ideas, you guys are about my only hope. Will a reflash do any good.

Any other ideas/suggestions.
Tom
If you did not buy the car new, GM made had already made an attempt to fix the car with a recall. As I recall, the fix did not work well and you could no longer get the original CLB to work as GM changed things around. When this issue first a rose some did not want to spend the money for the bypass so some waited for the GM fix. This really screwed folks down the road. I bought my by-pass as soon as they were available with the plug and play version. The early version had to be hand wired into the system.
