Default What Header system for my '98 should I get?

As it says, I'm now looking to buy a header system which I believe is a set of headers and and x-pipe, correct? If so, what dependable set-up can I buy for around $500 or $600? Fill me in if I'm wrong about the complete system too. As far as I know it will come with the above mentioned. Thanks for any help.

it'll come with whatever you pay for!!haha Headers are headers, xpipe is xpipe...that'll add a few hundred to the price when buying brand new...if you're buying used, some sell just headers...or headers and cats...or all 3...buying used though, is hard to put a price on as you need to quantify the wear in it...if it looks really busted up and what not, stay away, not worth it....if it looks good, then deal...$600 would be a good buy on a complete system in good condition...

I'm having Jet-Hot installed tomorrow at 21st Century. The Jet-Hot design is very similar in design to the very expensive headers, but are considerably less expensive. You might consider them, or wait until I post my numbers after the install to see if they do enough for you.

IMO one will not get a decent system for 5-600. I paid $1000 for headers and 250 for an X. Both name brand quality set ups.

There are so many headers and systems out there to choose from it becomes confusing quite quickly. A good quality set of headers and x pipe will probably run you around $1100.00. To get the most out of the system you' really have to consider a set of hi-flow cats as the stock ones would be the bottleneck in the exhaust system. You could probably pick up a decent used set of headers and X pipe for around $600.00 to $800.00. Place a request in the C5 parts for sale forum and you might find something. I've recently purchased a system made by Melrose that includes the headers, hi-flow cats and X-pipe. There are probably not many on the forum familiar with this make but these guys worked with GM to develop headers for their ASA race cars. They're more known for the T-tops they make. If they're good enough for the GM, they're good enough for me. If anyone out there has their system on their car and can give me some feedback I'd appreciate it.

Good Luck
