I had four 1x5 boards laying around and with feeling the urge to lift my car Screwed them together thus = two 2x5s to drive up on... They're both 3 feet long and I was wondering if these board sizes were safe enough to drive up on to allow me to get the jack under my car, or is there a specific size of boards i should get?

I'd probably want to use a little thicker pieces of wood, but that should work, especially if you are going to just use them to get the jack under the car.
however, you will get to the point where additional wood is not necessary and will actually interfere with what you are trying to do. Yes, you have to be careful as you get it up, but once it is up, then there is only so much wood that is needed. Once you have completed the task at hand, be careful removing the wood. Before removing wood, check for drips and leaks. Nothing worse than finding a drip once wood is removed. If you find something that is out of place, it will take some time to replace wood and raise everything again properly and safely. Above all else, please be safe and use extra precautions as you place your wood. An extra jack will add safety!
