I'm glad to hear that the Vette won't melt in the rain. The wedding is at a country club, but I don't know what the parking situation will be. Gravel? Dirt/mud? etc. I'm somewhat concerned about trashing the interior. Guess I'll just go have a couple of cold ones and see what tomorrow brings.
Cheers...
I live in Florida and get caught in the rain a lot. The car performs superbly! I'd rather take the vette and do some "rain time" than not take the vette at all. I hate driving anything else! Go for it!!
Drive that car, man!! They have windshield wipers and you'll have fun cleaning it up again. That's what it's all about!
Obviously you don't understand the time and detail involved in cleaning a Vette properly. I never drive my Vette in the rain for that reason. I don't care that it gets wet, but the time it takes to clean up is very consuming. Besides wet roads also throw up small rocks chipping the paint. It's not a Hummer and really wasn't designed for wet roads.
The wheel well areas are proof of that as junk can get thrown up all over the front and rear quarters. A wet weather vehicle is designed with protection from wet road junk in mind, our Corvette is not....hence, it's a dry weather vehicle.
So yes it won't melt in the rain, but it will chip, nick and take more of your time to clean up after driving in the rain.

What? Corvettes are very small cars. It takes me about 20 minutes to get mine the way I like it. Another 20 if I feel like cleaning off the tiny specks of tar. I do that about once a month.
Chips and nicks are going to happen in any sort of driving condition. And they don't happen that often, imo.
My advice to you is to keep your Vette in the garage. Which you're obviously already doing... No flame intended.
Vettes are for fun.

Fantastic looking Vette! I guess I am in the minority. I bought my Vette to drive and drive it I will; rain, snow, sunny, I don't care.....I bought it and I'm gonna use it. I do wash and wax it ALOT and carry a California Duster (great tool). I just can't afford to have a $49,000.00 "toy". Wish I could. I envy you guys/gals that can.

We obviously have different ideas of what is clean means with regards to our Vettes. I am more detailed cleaning my car than detail shops. The paint on my 03 Z06 is like new and I intend to keep it that way. I will never allow my Vette to be dirty. Yes nicks happen but, I won't advance this by driving in the rain. I would no more drive my car in the rain, than I would drive it on a dirt road or through mud puddles.
It took me a long time to be able to afford this car, so I want it to stay nice for as long as possible. Sure it's not a $200,000 car but it might as well be.....to me.
I know how you feel, I've been detailing mine new baby for the last 2 days getting ready for the Ronald McDonald benefit car show on Sunday in Loma Linda, but didn't get to wash it today because of rain and the same is predicted for tomorrow.

Beautiful car and nice job on the detailing. I can understand not wanting to get the car out in the rain after all that work, but the trip would still be great even if the car got dirty.
