Default Z06 or Wannabe?

I recently came across something interesting in our parking lot at work. There is a yellow C5 coupe with Z06 badges, wheels, brake vent cut-out and Z06 calipers. Weren't they all hard tops? I don't know who the owner is to ask to see the engine. I don't want to confront or be a ball buster, I am just curious. The car is gorgeous. Do you know of anyone doing conversions to the coupe? I looked at the gallery for engine comparison pics side by side of both engines, but was unable to see any differences from the pics detailed. Any one care to comment?

Although he's a poser, It's his car so let him do what he wants! As for the stuff he did, anyone can do that to their vert, coupe, or FRC for a few hundred bucks plus the rims. The engine looks the same except for the red fuel rail covers and the LS6 vs.the LS1 sticker on the throttle body, as well as the air box lid.

I find these threads amusing. Firstly, there are conversions for Z06 to verts but none for Z06 (FRC body) to coupe that I know of.

Secondly, what do you care? Why the need to "confront of be a ball buster". It's his car. If he wants to paint it pink and put flowers in the defrost vents - so what?

To answer your question, yes, they were all hardtops.

well by looking at that caravaggio link above, it is clear that they do make a kit to convert z06(frc) to a coupe. $15k wow!

if i had a z06 i rather have it look like a z06. maybe the convertable version if i had deep pockets.

I like the kit that just puts the removable top on the Z06. I agree with the above, I like the FRC body style more anyways.

15K to get your Z06 converted to a Coupe or Vert?

It's cheaper to buy a Vert and just throw an LS6 into it.

All Z06's are hardtops. Looks like he added a number of the Z06 related items to his coupe. Generally, the only is the badges - he does not have a Z06.

I have the Z06 motor, i did not do the vents on the rear brakes. I also did not put a Z06 bage on. I just wanted a coup with the Z06 Power i like the coup better my self. But his car and he can do what ever he likes it is his do with as he wants.

Now the pink thing that might be alittle to much.

Z06 calipers......rims......fuel rail covers.....that's all fine and legit to me. But Z06 emblems? That's where I draw the line...

Seems to me that using bogus badging, decals and scoops is somewhat counterproductive.

The only people that will appreciate what they signify are the same ones that'll know that they don't belong on a coupe.

Go figure.

If you happen to run into him, you could just comment and say "Nice Z06" and see if he corrects you or not

Then you can just call him a poser after that

Just look at his VIN number on the dash and if there is an "S" in the 8th position, it is a Z06.
