Need some sage advise here about tires for my 2000 Coupe. Should I stick with runflats or be brave and go with non's. I really like the tread on the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 and I hear they are VG in rain....yes I drive in the rain.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Any one try thr Kumho ECSTA MX runflats???

Thanks, Doug

I've replaced the rears on our 2000 with GY OEM's. I plan on putting Firestone runflats on the front later this year.

A lot of people have put on Michelin Pilots and are very happy with them.

We drive ours on long trips so I wanted to keep runflats on her.

Good luck with whatever you put on.

Later . . . . . .

I have Michelin Pilot runflats for a year now.. They are very quiet and much softer ride. They still have the runflat protection.

I went with non-run-flat Michelins...no complaints yet
I like the tire...check what you want and affordability for your style of driving. If your gonna tear them up, you may want a less expensive replacement. If you want to cruise, and a little performance, any of them will do that. Most take the rain well...except for the ZO6 tires (may slip a little) There are some great tires out there now, most priced around the same (unless there is a special) Dump your stock run-flats...you'll never look back

I never liked the ride of my car with the stock GY run-flats, so I changed them about two years ago to Bridgestone Pole Position S03 non-run flats. They made a big difference in the cars handling and ride quality (for the better). I just have a small air pump and some fix-a-flat stored in the hatch in case anything ever happens.

I just recently bought new wheels for my car (yet to be installed) and I decided to get a new set of tires to go with them. I wound up buying the Kuhmo ASX (non run-flat). There seems to be a decent number of owners that have good things to say about them, and you really can't beat the price (I paid about $550 for my set). If I didn't care about the cost, I probably would have bought another set of Bridgestone S03 or Pilot Sport PS2.

If safety is your biggest concern, stick with a run flat tire.

After reading all of the excellent input from the folks here, I decided to go with the Michelin Sport A/S ZP tires. Seem to be the best Runflats out there.

Haven't heard one bad comment about them and they're supposed to be "all season". No one else claims that on "runflats"

Only problem is I have to wait another week till my local dealer gets 'em.

Default Tires

Hey!! My 2000,Nassua Blue FRC had the stock Goodyears on it when I bought it in 02 with 15K mi. Tires were very noisy.Somtimes could hardly talk to my passenger! Last month, time to get new skins.Have read many posts from guys here at the forum. The Mich.Pilots looked good.I checked it out.Tire rack.com has some good comp.with other tires.Still the Mich.looked good.I got them and couldn't be more pleased. Road noise is to a min.Great traction,And they look the best! Plus they have a nice rib that goes around the edge of the rim that gives added protection to the rim against curbs. IMO there the best choice. Have fun..

I am considering Michelin Sport A/S ZP tires, what is the expected mileage on the tires for a non-agressive driver?

Doug,

You cannot go wrong with the Goodyear GS D3s. Not only are they great-handling on dry roads, but they also trounce the competition on wet pavement. The ride difference between these and the OEM runflats can only be described as "astounding". To top it off, they are made right here in the USA - American tires for an American legend - highly recommended!

Thanks guys for all the input...guess there's alot of good tires out there. Maybe I'm too hung up on the runflat issue, after all the Z06 guys survive nicely. I can hardly remember the last flat tire I got while driving...must be 15 years ago
Agin thanks for guys
