I just wrote a huge write up on this but it would'nt load . So I'll do it later but for now let me just say WOWWWWW!!! no ands, ifs or buts you'll love it. A must do mod
I JUST SAW THIS MOD IN PERSON YESTERDAY.... I must say it looks and feels great. This guy bought the whole C6 shifter kit and now...I must have one, I'll have to put this on my mod list for sure.
... My hurst is a bit stiff and occasionally rattles a bit. Time for a change...
It seems these are common comments from Hurst shfter owners but I found if you change the spring load to the lighter springs that come with the shifter and get three strips of 1/4oz stick-on wheel weights from NAPA and apply them circularly around the shaft, two weights thick secured with a tie-wrap you'll eliminate the 'rattle' and it'll shift just the way you'd hope it would. As many will attest to, the Hurst is really a decent shifter... but ya' gotta' customize to your liking with the spare springs they provide.

Glad you liked it. You'll like it even more when it's on your car and not mine So folks don't have to search -- you can get it from Bob at Fichtner Chevrolet: 1-800-234-5284 or email him at parts@fichtnerchevrolet.com. I'll let you know when my new boots show up and how they fit. Trust me, you'll want to replace that ugly vinyl boot when you get the new shifter. Nice meeting you yesterday... good times
I can do it in less than an hour. Fairly easy job, just the deamon pin in the C5 shifter is a pain. You get the shifter, the **** and the screw that holds the **** in place.
I agree, about an hour. I used the screwdriver method of removing the key (two screwdrivers one on the left side, and one on the right side), and the key came right out (couldn't get a good grip with the Vise Grips).
Also, remember to pull the pin at the front of the shifter. That releases the shifter so you can position it on the shaft.
Also, as someone else stated, make sure that you have the Torx #40 socket in hand before you start.
