Default Is This Normal?

When I go to turn the key to start the car,it acts like it is on a delay.Meaning,I turn it to start and after a 2 second delay then it turns over. The battery is good.It seems to be getting worse the more the day went on.My buddy's car starts as soon as you turn the keyHas anybody experienced this before.I am going to East Coast Supercharging on thursday and don't want to be stranded on that 10 round trip. The car is an 01 A4 vert.HELP!!!!

Mine is a 01 A4 coupe and it doesn't have that problem. It sounds like the battery or the starter may be weakening.

Certainly not normal. Might want to consider an electrical check on the system.

I'd say that is not normal. Mine certainly doesn't hesitate to start like that.

Good point Grumpy! Try using a pensil eraser or electrical cleaner on the metal part enclosed in black plastic. The resistance in the key may be causing the hesitation.

Why go to ECS? There are so many other places that will fix your car the first time and stand behind their work. I'll never go to ECS again.

Found the problem.I installed my alky kit and tied the power into the keyed power wire in the oassenger kick panel. The same wire my radio power wire is tied into.Well for some reason the fuse blew which led me to investigate.I disconnected the alky power from that line and replaced the fuse.NO MORE DELAY!I tapped the alky power into the big orange ignition wire under the column and no more problem.Still don't know why it could't handle them both.

It was a 20 amp towards the top of the box.I don't have the car so I don't remember the #.The wires that I tied into were the 3 extra ones by the fuse panel.I think I tied it to the yellow wire.
