Default Inside gas hatch release

I have a 99 FRC. The mechanism for releasing the exterior gas hatch is inside the center console. It is a pain in the rear to stop at the pump and open the center lid on the console to release the hatch, especially when the emergency brake is on. Has anyone ever moved this damned release button to a more convenient place?

I don't see what the problem is personally...

Let me know if you actually do it. Pics would be nice. I am going to do something. The price of gas is irritating enough let alone the fact that you have to fight the hatch release.

It's not really that big of a hassel even with the emergency break on. Takes two seconds to get the gas door open.

Its a poor place to place it, period

To bad its not down near the drivers side door jamb, near the front, left of the seat like some cars
